Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 6, 2026 · Last updated: November 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RDH Blog ("RDH Blog," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by [BUSINESS LEGAL NAME / DBA], handles information when you visit rdhblog.com (the "Site"). We wrote it to meet the requirements of the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the other U.S. state consumer privacy laws described below.

The short version

  • We do not ask you for personal information. The Site has no accounts, sign-up forms, comments or checkout.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or tracking pixels.
  • We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
  • Purchases happen on Amazon.com, not on our Site. Amazon's own privacy policy applies to them.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you, and we keep it only as long as we need to for that.

Technical information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic server log data when your browser requests a page. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, the pages you request and the date and time of each request. This data is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, prevent abuse and diagnose problems. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile about you.

Information we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, precise geolocation, biometric data, or consumer health data, and we do not ask about your own dental or medical conditions.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site itself does not set cookies. A few third-party services involved in loading the Site may receive standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser details) when your browser connects to them:

  • Hosting provider — serves the Site's pages and keeps server logs, as described above.
  • Google Fonts — provides the Site's typefaces. Google receives your IP address when your browser downloads the fonts. See Google's Privacy Policy.

When you click a "Check price on Amazon" link, you leave our Site. Amazon may then place cookies on your browser to credit the referral to us and to operate its store. Those cookies are set by Amazon on Amazon.com and are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice. Amazon tells us only aggregate information, such as the number of clicks and the items purchased. It does not tell us who you are.

How we use information

We use the limited information described above to operate and secure the Site, respond to messages you send us, understand overall traffic to the Site, comply with the law, and enforce our Terms of Use.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site (such as our hosting provider), only for that purpose, and when required by law or to protect our rights, our users or others. If our business is ever sold or transferred, the limited information we hold may transfer with it, and this Policy would continue to apply to it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. As of the date above, about twenty U.S. states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island. Many of these laws apply only to businesses above certain size or data-volume thresholds, but we extend the following rights to all visitors, wherever they live:

  • Right to know / access — what personal information we hold about you, and a copy of it.
  • Right to correct any inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to data portability — your information in a portable format.
  • Right to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling. We do none of these, but you may still send a request.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

How to make a request. Email privacy@rdhblog.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Because we collect so little, we may be able to fulfill your request only for information you sent us by email. We may need to verify your identity, for example by confirming you control the email address involved. We will respond within 45 days, or within the time your state's law requires. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf where your state's law allows it.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond within the time your state's law requires. If you disagree with the outcome of an appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General.

Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track"

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information, the Site works the same either way. The Site does not track visitors across third-party websites, so it responds to browser "Do Not Track" signals in the same way it treats all visitors.

California-specific disclosures

In the past 12 months, the only categories of personal information we may have collected are identifiers (such as IP address, or an email address if you contacted us) and internet or other electronic network activity (such as server log data). The sources are you and your browser. The purposes are those listed under "How we use information." We disclosed these categories for business purposes only to our service providers. We sold or shared none of them. We keep server log data only as long as our hosting provider retains it in the normal course of business, and email correspondence only as long as needed to respond. Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Nevada residents

We do not sell covered information as defined in Nevada law (NRS 603A). You may still send an opt-out request to privacy@rdhblog.com.

Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and others)

Although our content covers oral health topics, we do not collect, process, share or sell "consumer health data" as defined in Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370 or similar laws. Reading articles or clicking product links on our Site is not used to infer anything about your health.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), or from teens under 16 or 18 where state law protects them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security and retention

The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, or as long as the law requires. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold.

Third-party links

Our Site links to Amazon.com and to news articles from other publishers. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a material change, such as starting to use analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
